How I got here...

Today is the 13th of May in the year 2008 and it is Tuesday.

I was recently a student in Oprah's Webinar with Eckhart Tolle. I watched the first 4 events and then something changed in me and I moved on.
The ideas that I had been mulling over were foreign to me and I was getting a funny feeling about the past...like some day I will be summed up by what someone can read on a fading tombstone. That is a little disconcerting to see your self as history when you still have a lot of living to do. I was displaced for a moment in time. It was an illusion of course...but in another way don't we each use our own past as a barometer for our futures, telling ourselves what is and isn't good enough for us. The second occasion when I slipped in time was at a musical performance at the Paramount Theater. The theater has been beautifully restored . The crowd of people were of the older generation mostly because the program honored George Gershwin music. As the lights dimmed, and the sounds of WWII came floating across the heads of the audience, age peeled away from them and in the colorless light they were all 23 again and I was a voyeur from the future. There is a country music video that takes place in the Grand Ole Opry. The audience is composed of various filmed audiences who attended performances there over the years. So you have a black and white lady sitting next to a Carol Brady look a like who is sitting next to Dennis Rodman...The idea of that....the overlapping of time, history and legend intrigues me. My past had haunted me until I realized that I was the one on the stage, this is my life, and the past was the audience and I didn't have to waste another moment trying to be something other than me. With a simple step forward, I have time traveled, from the past into the present. I have been left with the strong idea that God really wants me to be present each and every day. To borrow some 60's slang, He needs me to be 'tuned-in' instead of out or off. Things happen in those small moments between people that are as powerful as atomic energy. It is the action of the brain, being present enough to listen, laugh and love. That changes the world. Step out of your boxes and into today, it is a beautiful space.

Techno Junkie

I am amazed at the power of the computer! I just recently recieved this computer as a gift from my son and his future wife. I quit smoking and all that pent up energy flowed through my fingers and into this keyboard and I was consumed by my thirst for knowledge, more and more and what else can I learn to do. My son, having created this monster, got tired of the constant IMs about my computing problems and gave me his college textbook. :) I love that Kid!
So here I am embarking on my first blogging journey....I know I will learn a lot.
