Where has the time gone...over to facebook
I, like millions of other internet users are finding that facebook sucks up our computing time leaving blogger out in the dark. facebook has become command central for a lot of people with busy lives. You can socialize at your leisure or convenience. And while at facebook.com you can play games, take quizes, look at cool pictures....It is the WalMart of CyberSociety...One stop computing. I love it. I depend on it. So, my dearest blogger, good bye my lover.

We got about five inches of snow last night...our son laughed like a loon because they didn't get anything and it is a nice day there. :DSo I look at these pictures from a week ago and remember the desert heat and the smell of blooms in the air. mmm....I can't wait for spring to come here in the heartland.

Hawk

Today a hawk was sitting in our pine tree. He looked so huge...his eyes scanning around in lightening speed. As they came to rest on me, on the other side of the glass, he froze...all sound was sucked from the world...no breath, no blink...just sizing up the situation and then in his keen eyes shone curiosity....and then the spell was broken and he flew to the heavens.....sometimes it is just worth looking out the window.

A True Edwardian
MUCHAMoon and Stars
Uncle Bill turned 100 years old today, January 3rd, 2009. Always the dapper gentleman, Uncle Bill was in wonderful spirits today. There was a party for him at the Care Center where he lives. His friend played 'Happy Birthday' on his harmonica and we all sang along. I asked him what he thought about being one hundred and he said, "It is a funny life."
When I was growing up, Uncle Bill had already lived through many adventures and was retiring from the feed business. He and Aunt Mildred lived just a few short blocks from us and cousin Liz and I would often go and 'visit'. I remember the big wooden airplane propeller that stood behind the front door. A reminder of Bill's flying days, and sparks for a child's imagination. It was always a wonderful place to visit. Uncle Bill is right, life is funny. Happy Birthday, Uncle Bill! Thanks for being an unforgettable character in our lives!
