The Wedding

My husband and I are preparing for our son's wedding in September. As the day approaches you begin to think about what it means to be married, a husband or a wife. You remember what it was like for you and the utter joy at loving someone and having them love you back. Kevin and I could not be more proud of our future daughter in law! The Lord has blessed our family by bringing us together with another great family. It will truly be a day to celebrate...and Kevin plans to get a little hillbilly...:) (Little?) :)

Kylee is 5!!

Kylee turned 5 years old this year! She likes fairy princesses and Tinker Bell. It was a beautiful day and everyone had a fun time, especially Amy when she was playing frisbee with Uncle Kevin!

Allie the puppy

Meet, Allie, the new pup in the Tapken family. Roxanne is the proud "Mama" and Trent the proud and dotting big brother. She is such a nice pup! She is mellow and friendly. She and Roxanne are getting along famously! :)

After partying with Kylee and the girls, Allie is worn out!

Birdzerk

Another nice day at the Kernels game in CR. The entertainment was spectacular with Birdzerk and Ballzerk at the stadium. The smell of burgers grilling and Chicago dogs was too much to resist. You couldn't have gotten a more perfect slice of America if your mom would have been standing beside you holding an apple pie...it really was the ultimate in Sunday afternoons!!

Bummed to the Max

Just 10 short days ago our brother, Keith Allen Tapken, passed away suddenly of a massive heart attack. He was 51 years old. He was one year younger than my husband. Gone too soon...there is no making sense of it. I am glad and honored to have known him and to be called sister in-law by him. Who will I talk cooking with now? :) Keith will be remembered with smiles and love and he will be missed around all our tables.
