MUCHAMoon and Stars
Uncle Bill turned 100 years old today, January 3rd, 2009. Always the dapper gentleman, Uncle Bill was in wonderful spirits today. There was a party for him at the Care Center where he lives. His friend played 'Happy Birthday' on his harmonica and we all sang along. I asked him what he thought about being one hundred and he said, "It is a funny life."
When I was growing up, Uncle Bill had already lived through many adventures and was retiring from the feed business. He and Aunt Mildred lived just a few short blocks from us and cousin Liz and I would often go and 'visit'. I remember the big wooden airplane propeller that stood behind the front door. A reminder of Bill's flying days, and sparks for a child's imagination. It was always a wonderful place to visit. Uncle Bill is right, life is funny. Happy Birthday, Uncle Bill! Thanks for being an unforgettable character in our lives!

Nice picture of Uncle Bill, he is definately a dapper gentleman. It is nice to see that you and the Finn girls made it to the party. It would have been nice is Millie could have been there too. I am sure she was in spirit.
